Day 1 of Frog cam - 23rd March 2020
Frog spawn collected from the school pond. The frogspawn that you see floating is made up of thousands of single eggs, each one having a tiny black tadpole embryo surrounded in jelly. Frogs lay so many eggs because as they do not look after their young most do not survive to adulthood
Day 2 of frog cam - There are some small changes to the shape of the embryo.

Day 3 of Frog cam - look carefully and you will see our tadpoles begin to move.
Day 4 of frog cam - Very exciting
The tadpoles have begun to hatch. Tadpoles need to breathe air just like us, but use gills instead of lungs, look closely and you can see the gills.
Day 5 - lots more are hatching.

Day 8 of frog cam, most of the tadpoles have hatched now.

Day 9 of frog cam
We have lots of tadpoles that have hatched and busy beginning to feed.
Day 10 of frog cam, lots more tadpoles have hatched, look really close and you can see the gills.
