Reading Fluency

Pupil Premium Interventions 2020-2021

 

This year’s Pupil Premium interventions will have a Reading focus.

During Autumn 1 and 2 we will be focusing on Reading Fluency.

Fluency involves:

  • Expression
  • Phrasing
  • Smoothness
  • Pace

During interventions your child will:

  • Read in unison with others
  • Learn how to use punctuation to segment words
  • Listen to the teacher model read
  • Learn how to use tone of voice for dialogue
  • Hear themselves reading through recording their voice
  • Build confidence in reading aloud to others

And most importantly, harness a love for Reading!
