Spring Term 2026
This term our topic is Food Glorious Food
We will be exploring the countries in the United Kingdom, then the world, comparing their climates, homes and the food eaten.
This will be supported by a range of key texts including Handa's Surprise by Eileen Browne, Playing with Lanterns by Wang Yage and Zhu Chengliang and Little people, Big Dreams- Ernest Shackleton by Maria Sanchez Vegara.
Underpinning our Templars' value of Care, we will be learning how to keep ourselves happy and healthy, both physically and mentally, including:
- Looking at our key character strengths through the My Happy Mind Program
- Discussing food, exercise and screen time and the effects these may have on our physical and mental health.
- Exploring and showing respect for other cultures, religions and beliefs.
- Continue to work on our partner work and teamwork skills.
We will also look at the world around us and how we can care for our planet, including learning about Sir David Attenborough.
Underpinning our Templars' value of Respect, we will also be exploring a range of festivals and celebrations which are celebrated around the world, including:
- Lunar New Year
- Pancake Day
- Eid
- Mothers Day
- Easter
