Autumn Term – Caves, Creatures, Stones and Bones
Autumn sparks children’s imaginations with a deep dive into early human history. This term is full of curiosity, hands-on investigation and rich opportunities for reading, writing and scientific discovery.

By the end of Autumn, pupils are equipped with secure historical knowledge, improved independence and confident communication skills.
Spring Term – Walk Like an Egyptian
Spring transports children to the buzzing world of ancient Egypt, a civilisation rich in mystery, innovation and cultural achievement. This theme fosters awe, deep thinking and cross-curricular creativity.

By the end of Spring, children can compare ancient cultures, think critically about evidence and communicate with growing sophistication.
Summer Term – Earliest Civilisations & On the Beach
Summer begins with a comparative study of the earliest civilisations, before moving into an uplifting coastal geography and literature unit. It is a term filled with reflection, creativity and celebration of everything children have achieved.

By the end of Year Three, pupils are thoughtful, knowledgeable and ready to step confidently into Upper Key Stage 2.
