Curriculum Vision and Intent

The Templars Way - Curriculum Intent
We want every child to truly experience what it means to belong.
We want them to feel rooted in Templars Primary School, connected to their community, and confidently part of a wider world filled with possibility. Our Templars Tailored Curriculum has been intentionally shaped so that belonging is woven into every experience—sitting proudly alongside our unwavering commitments to safeguarding, restorative practice and our core values of care, respect and honesty.
From the moment they step through our doors, pupils are welcomed into a place where they can be certain that they matter, that they are safe to be themselves, and that they will always have a place. Our curriculum begins with the world they know—Tile Hill, Coventry—and ensures that every child can ask, every single day, “How does what I am learning connect to me, my identity and the place I call home?”
Through rich subject disciplines, children discover that they belong not only to their local community but to global communities of thinkers, creators and problem-solvers—authors, geographers, historians, engineers, mathematicians, linguists and scientists. These disciplines have been thoughtfully chosen to reflect the diversity and ambition needed to ignite every child’s imagination. As pupils progress, the curriculum expands their horizons, opening their eyes to a world brimming with opportunity and promise.
Our carefully selected pedagogies make one message clear: every child, whatever their starting point or story, has something valuable to offer. Templars is where they are heard, where they can contribute, and where they know—deeply and confidently—that they belong.
Every child. Every day. Every chance.
