Year Six

Year Six is a year of ambition, leadership and deep learning. Pupils tackle big questions about human rights, global conflict and personal identity while developing the knowledge, resilience and independence needed for secondary school. Our curriculum empowers every learner to excel, contribute positively to their community and approach their final primary year with confidence and pride.

Below is an overview of the rich and purposeful journey children take across the year.

Autumn Term – Power to the People

Autumn launches Year Six into a powerful exploration of human rights, activism and significant individuals whose courage and conviction changed the world. It is a term fuelled by critical thinking, empathy and inspiring role models.

By the end of Autumn, children demonstrate leadership, self-awareness and the confidence to express ideas that matter.

Spring Term – Blitz and Pieces

Spring immerses pupils in one of the most significant periods of modern history—World War II. It is a term rich in empathy, historical enquiry and creative expression.

By the end of Spring, pupils demonstrate empathy, analytical thinking and a strong grasp of world history.

Summer Term – Who Do You Think You Are?

Summer encourages pupils to look inward and outward: to explore their heritage, identity and place in the world. This final term nurtures pride, reflection and readiness for the future.

By the end of Year Six, pupils leave Templars as confident, kind and capable young people—ready to take their next steps with pride, resilience and ambition.
