We have received some information from the British Fatwa Council, regarding the Nasal flu vaccine containing porcine gelatine.
Considering the evidence that the gelatine is highly purified and is being used for a medical purpose they have concluded the nasal flu vaccine containing porcine gelatine is permissible for use.
This finding of the Muftis (who are highly trained and are able to give their expert opinions on issues related to Islamic Law). We hope this will reassure Muslim parents.
