  • Abstract fossil printing

Thu 19 May 2022 Miss Roberts

In 6DH today, the children revisited their geometric backgrounds inspired by artist Nabil Nahas. They added more colour using watercolour paints and created different effects. Then they created their own ammonite fossil and printed their fossil designs on top. The results are fantastic - an abstract mixture of geometry and nature!

  • 6S Fossil Art

Wed 18 May 2022 Miss Roberts

Year 6 have been looking at Land Art and artwork created by English artist Andy Goldsworthy. Yesterday, 6S worked collaboratively in groups to create large-scale fossil collages inspired by Goldsworthy and fossil patterns. We experimented with different techniques, manipulated paper to make ammonites and mixed 2D with 3D.

  • Young Voices 2022

Sun 15 May 2022 Mrs Gentry

We are all very excited for the Year 4's trip to join the Young Voices Choir at The Resorts World Arena tomorrow. We are taking a total of 71 children, the biggest choir the school has ever sent. Please remember if your child is attending the concert with us they need:

    • A plain white t-shirt
    • Plenty of water to drink during the day
    • A packed lunch for their evening meal
    • A coat for when we leave the venue
    • If they require any medications please make sure they are handed to staff on the doors in the morning (we will have forms ready to be filled in)

All items need to be packed in a small bag that will fit under their chair in the arena.

Please keep an eye on twitter for any update on where we are sitting (and hopefully you can let us know where you all are so we can give you a wave) and for updates on arrival back to school.

Another beautiful day, so we ventured outside with our paper and paintbrushes! It was lovely to paint on a different surface and have the freedom to paint whatever we wanted to!
