Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Year 3 is a place where your child will make the smooth transition from key stage one to becoming a more confident, resilient, and independent learner in key stage two. We want our pupils to skip into school, with a big smile and to know they are in a safe, caring environment, where they can grow in confidence and try their hardest. We genuinely believe, a happy child is ready to learn and learning should be fun and engaging to all pupils. We strive to achieve this through our broad, well-planned curriculum, which ensures all pupils are stimulated and challenged.

It is therefore important that pupils arrive on time every day, ready to start the learning journey. Each day begins with learning about the word of the day and reading. It is vital these foundations are in place to ensure progress in English and it is their ticket to a whole host of learning in other subject areas. We want our pupils to be proud of the effort and work they produce!

All Year 3 children belong to Templars and we as teachers motivate our children through praise and celebrate their achievements.

Meet the Teachers

All about Miss Gray: Miss Gray loves to read! She is excited to be teaching in Year 3 again this year and teach all about the Egyptians! Her favourite lesson to teach is PE because she loves watching her class work as a team and support each other.

All about Mrs Njofang: Mrs Njofang grew up in the Netherlands and as a child, she spent a lot of time reading books. She loves to be creative and thinks of fun lessons to do together that will help children learn. Mrs Njofang's favourite subject to teach is Maths because she enjoys watching her children become more confident as the year progresses.

All about Mrs Smith: This is Mrs Smith's second year teaching in Year 3. She loves to teach English because she is passionate about using her creative thoughts to write adventurous narratives. She loves to watch children develop their independence and confidence throughout the year and encourages self reflection.

If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team who will be available on the playground and the gates each morning. They will pass any messages on. The year 3 team will then get back to you via email or a phone call. You can contact us via Seesaw also.
