Year 3 is a place where your child will make the smooth transition from key stage one to becoming a more confident, resilient, and independent learner in key stage two. We want our pupils to skip into school, with a big smile and to know they are in a safe, caring environment, where they can grow in confidence and try their hardest. We genuinely believe, a happy child is ready to learn and learning should be fun and engaging to all pupils. We strive to achieve this through our broad, well-planned curriculum, which ensures all pupils are stimulated and challenged.
It is therefore important that pupils arrive on time every day, ready to start the learning journey. Each day begins with learning about the word of the day and reading. It is vital these foundations are in place to ensure progress in English and it is their ticket to a whole host of learning in other subject areas. We want our pupils to be proud of the effort and work they produce!
All Year 3 children belong to Templars and we as teachers motivate our children through praise and celebrate their achievements.
All about Miss Gray: This is Miss Gray's forth year teaching in Year 3. Her favourite subject to teach is Art and PE because she loves to see her class trying new skills and using their growth mindset. In her spare time she enjoys reading historical fiction books because she loves learning about the past.
All about Miss Goode: Miss Goode loves art and believes that every mistake is a good mistake. She loves stepping back in time to learn about the Victorian Era and enjoys visiting manor homes in her spare time. Her favourite pastime is sitting down with a cup of tea and a slice of Victoria sponge.
All about Mrs Smith: This is Mrs Smith's second year teaching in Year 3. She loves to teach English because she is passionate about using her creative thoughts to write adventurous narratives. She loves to watch children develop their independence and confidence throughout the year and encourages self reflection.
